A former politician has been arraigned before a court for shooting his son following arguments they had due to a
land dispute.
According to reports, a former Kenyan politician identified
as Jackson Kibor, was charged to court following a shooting
episode involving him and one of his sons Ezekiel Kibor.
Jackson and Ezekiel had been involved in an argument
due to a land dispute (involving a 1,250-acre farm) they
were trying to resolve, when he reportedly brought out a gun and shot at his son three times.
Jackson who claims he had shot his son in self-defence,
was arrested and charged with 'misuse of firearm' after a video of the incident which occurred in their farm in Eldoret, Kenya, went viral.
The former Kenya African National Union (KANU) party chairman denied his charges, saying: " All that is not true,
your honour .''
He was eventually released on Sh100,000 (N300,000) bail, with orders to have his fingerprints taken at a police station (he had earlier refused).
