Police in Kano said that it has arrested two dismissed army personnel on camouflage for alleged robbery.

Police in Kano said that it has arrested two dismissed army personnel on camouflage for alleged robbery. The suspects, Abubakar Ibrahim a Kaduna resident and Jaduwa Thalma of Askira Uba Borno State were arrested in full Army uniform attempting to cross to Niger Republic with a brand new robbed Unregistered Ford Hilux Navy blue colour vehicle which was snatched from its owner.

The spokes person of the Command DSP Musa Majia while parading the suspects at the Command’s Head Quarters on Thursday before news men stated that the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) attached to Kano and Katsina states made the arrest after a tip off. DSP Majia stated that the arrest was possible after prompt dissemination of information by the Rivers state command that the suspects have attacked the vehicle owner in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and were on the run.

According to him, the suspects confessed to be dismissed Soldiers who deserted from the service when posted to Baga on Operation Lafiya Dole and took to crime. “The crackdown operation”, according to Majia, “followed the Inspector General of Police Ibrahim K. Idris NPM, mni commitment towards training and retraining of personnel, sharing of information and synergy with sister security agencies for successful fight against all forms of crimes and criminal activities across the country.”
