Former Arsenal striker, Alan Smith says the signing of Borussia Dortmund star, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang means that manager, Arsene Wenger has lost power at the north London club.
The Gunners on Wednesday confirmed the signing of Aubameyang for a club-record fee of £56 million.
He believes the long-serving Frenchman is not the all-powerful figure he once was.
Smith told Sky Sport: “I wouldn’t say Aubameyang is a vital signing. They’ve got Mkhitaryan in to replace Sanchez and they’ve got Lacazette who has his problems at the moment.
“It will give them a boost in the dressing room which is what they might need after losing at Swansea last night.
“They’ve got Sven Mislintat in as head of recruitment so maybe he’s pushed that through.”
