Police nab man with 13 stolen shoes

A man has been arrested with 13 pairs of shoes suspected to have been stolen from a boutique in Gwarinpa.


A police source said the suspect was arrested on Thursday on Fourth Avenue with the shoes valued at about N795, 000.

“The shoes were different types of foreign shoes,” the source said.


According to an online reports the suspect, identified only as Tukur, resides on Third Avenue in the area and he confessed to have broken into a boutique on Fourth Avenue from where all the items were stolen.


The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, confirmed the incident.


He said all the exhibits were recovered from the suspect including some house breaking tools which he said must have been used to break into the boutique.


He said the suspect was arrested by officers on routine crime prevention patrol at about 3:00a.m.

He said investigation was ongoing.
