Mad couple becomes a reference point after lady revealed they lived together for 22 years (photo)

A Nigerian lady has shared the touching story of a mad couple in her village - The couple lived together for twenty two years with their state of insanity A Nigerian lady identified as Olaide Olakiitan Oluwayemisi has shared the amazing story of a mad couple who lived together against all odds and achieved things some sane couples cannot achieve.

The couple’s story was shared to charge all couples in Nigeria. Although no one wants to be mad, the love life of the couple has become an inspiration to many sane people in the society. Oluwayemisi shared the story through her Instagram page.

The mad man was identified as Samade while his wife was called Cynthia. The former graduated from University of Nigeria in Nsukka where he studied Physics.


The mad couple lived under the same roof, had misunderstandings and settled without anyone knowing how they did it.

Their union was blessed with three children. Oluwayemisi said they begged as they had no source of income and marveled at the coordination they had in their union. Without visiting marriage counselors or attending marriage classes, these two lived together for twenty two years.


They were described as the Romeo and Juliet of their world. They were proud of each other and showed off.

The villagers saw them kissing, hugging and caressing each other many times. The two played together and did many things as a unit. If they were not mad, they would have won the best couple of the year.

Oluwayemisi drew out the lesson to be learnt from Samade and Cynthia’s story. "If the insane can sustain a romantic relationship, the sane should be able to do better."

Sadly, she talked about the sane couples who have access to all the good things of life and cannot live together for ten years. She said she finds the story of the mad couple inspiring; this made her take the decision to make her marriage work by all means when she was seventeen.


Samade died in the month of July while Cynthia died in September of the same year. She was said to have died of loneliness and depression. The children produced by the union were adopted by three different families who loved the romantic life of the couple and the example they set with their relation.
