Mr Dereck Fulton accidentally shot and killed 17-year-old Jordan Middleton who was trying to escape from a

coming from the guest bedroom.
Here is what the law enforcers have decided to do to him
A 17-year-old teen has been accidentally shot dead by the father of his 14 year old girlfriend who allegedly sneaked
him into her home's guest bedroom in the middle of the
night.
Mr Dereck Fulton, the young girl's father, shot Jordan Middleton on the chest when the boy came out of a
guest bedroom's closet and tried to run.
According to the area police report, Fulton claimed he mistaken the boy for an intruder, only to learn a few
minutes later that he was actually brought into the room
by his daughter.
The father had allegedly heard his dog barking nonstop
at the door of the guest bedroom. Also, some strange
noises were coming from inside the room.He realised something was not right, so he grabbed his gun and went downstairs to inspect.
He reportedly warned whoever was in the house to identify
themselves because he was armed. But no one responded,
forcing him to storm into the room, only for Middleton to emerge from the bedroom's closet.
Without thinking twice, Fulton shot the boy as he tried to run out of the room.
The police report further states that it was shortly after
the teenager was shot that Fulton learned he was with his daughter in the room.
Fulton reportedly tried to perform CPR on the boy in
attempts to save him as he waited for medics to arrive. Unfortunately, the boy died.
So far no charges have been filed, even as investigation
into the matter continues.
For teenagers, it may be helpful if you let your parents or
those you stay with know who your friends are and when
you bring them home, otherwise they may be mistaken for intruders, as was the case with Middleton.
