HIV is not death! See 6 steps to live normal life, stay healthy and beautiful

An HIV diagnosis was once a death sentence, but that is no longer the case
for those of us who stay healthy.

The average HIV-positive person today is expected to live to
be nearly 80, roughly on par with the general population.

As more and more people reaching the century mark, here's a
list of the best things you can do — besides adhering to your
medication regimen — that will help you have a long,
healthy life.

1. Eat healthy

Maintaining a balanced, nutritious diet is even more crucial
toyour overall health when you're living with HIV.

A healthy diet can help keep the immune system strong, protect
against illness, and possibly prevent the progression of HIV.

The right diet can make it easier for the body to process the
many medications that people with HIV must take, so you need
protein such as lean meat, fish, eggs and beans.

2. Exercise

Exercise helps control your weight, fights cardiovascular disease,
and lets you look fantastic in an old pair of jeans, but it can also
help boost your T cells.

Workout is beneficial because we produce hormones that help
calm us down when we exercise.

3. Safe s*x

Use condoms not only to avoid the spread of HIV to others, but
also to protect you against other sexually transmitted diseases
(STDs)

4. Prevent infections and illnesses

HIV makes your immune system less effective, you
become more susceptible to every virus, bacteria,
and germ you’re exposed to.

So you have to be extra careful and also stay up-to-date
on all of your vaccinations to reduce your risk of
 preventable illnesses.

5. Follow doctors’ orders

One of the most important things you have to do is take
your HIV medication exactly as prescribed by doctors.

Skipping even one day of medication can give the virus
an opportunity to become resistant to the drugs, so you
need to pay attention an take your medication at the
 same time every day.

6. Manage you emotional problems

Reducing stress is an essential part of staying well with HIV.

The chronic stress of living with HIV can take a toll on an
HIV patient’s overall health and well-being.

Depression and anxity can also harm your immune system and worsen the HIV disease.

Some great ways to manage stress, depression and
anxity include yoga, meditation, exercise, and counseling.
