African Democratic Congress (ADC), has zoned its presidential ticket in the coming 2019 general elections to Northern Nigeria.
National chairman of the party, Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, who made this disclosure, said the zoning was part of its efforts at re-engineering the party to take over leadership of the country both at the federal and state levels in 2019.
“Through a democratic process, ADC intends to produce the next President, come May 2019,” he added.
Adding its voice to the call for restructuring of the current political and economic arrangement of the nation, the party leader said, “Restructuring and true federation will give our country the latitude to be a global economic and political force,” adding, “we should embrace it.”
“The National Assembly should stop their timidity and allow Nigeria to blossom. ADC believes that governance is not collection and squandering of rents; rather it is building an enamored ecosystem for wealth creation, security and prosperity,” the party said.
“The current stupor is brought about by the conspiracy of a few and the unbridled deal making and patronage character of a majority of the elites”, the national chairman said in his keynote address at the congress.
