Stunt woman who died on film set identified

A stunt woman who died on a set of Deadpool 2 in Vancouver, Canada, has been identified as Joi ‘SJ’ Harris.

Harris who was believed to be the stunt double for actress Zazie Beetz who plays Domino in the film, was a professional road racer born in Brooklyn, New York.

According to her online bio, she was the first licensed African-American female to actively compete in American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) race.

Deadpool 2 is believed to be her first film as a stunt driver, reports TMZ.

Local media said Harris appeared to lose control of the motorbike, which drove off the set and through the window of a building across the street.

It was reported that the “the throttle somehow engaged” and the rider lost control while standing on the motorbike.

The incident is said to have occurred on Monday about 8.20 am local time (4.20pm UK time).
