Human and
vehicular movement yesterday were temporary grounded at 3-3 Onitsha and
Nkwele Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State following
the visit of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)
Nnjamdi Kanu.
Kanu who stormed 3-3 which is close to
Onitsha at 1.30pm addressed his supporters, while insisting that the
governorship election will not hold on November 18, 2017 in the state as
scheduled, calling on all his supporters to boycott the election.
Speaking to Daily Sun, Kanu dismissed the
insinuation that a boycott of the election may attract a state of
emergency and possible appointment of a military administrator, saying
that there would be no vacuum that may warrant such.
He stated that there is a constitutional
provision that on the expiration of the tenure of the governor, the
speaker of the House of Assembly will take over pending when an election
would be conducted for the state.
He said: “The people of Anambra must boycott the governorship election and every further election for Biafra to be actualised and until we get a date for a referendum.”
