NAIJ.com gathered that apart from the 50 people initially reported dead, about 76 more people died on the same day, bringing the total record to 126.
According to the cable, 120 civilians were also injured
during the mistaken attack.
Babagana Malarima, chairman of Kala Balge local
government as at the time of the bombing, initially said 236 people had died in the attack, but later revised the figures, stating that the figures available to him were a lump sum of injured and killed persons.
Apart from the 126 who died on the first day, some others have died in the days following the attack, but none, not a single household has been compensated for the military, whose mistake brought about the calamity.
