A drunk man in China was forced to undergo surgery
after sticking two live fish into his behind, with one of them swimming into his abdomen.
- He had to be admitted to the ICU after one of the fish,
known as loaches, broke his intestinal wall.
- Doctors successfully removed the loaches but said the
man could have died if they had swam further up his body.
A drunk man in Guangzhou, China was forced to undergo
emergency surgery after sticking two live fish into his
behind, with one of them swimming up to his abdomen.
Local reports indicated that the unidentified 45-year-old
man was in severe pain after the pond loaches swam up his intestines and one of them breached his abdominal wall.
The loaches reportedly spent 24 hours in the man's body
after his drunken and bizarre action on March 10.
The man had to be admitted in the ICU at the First Affiliated
Hospital in Jinan University where doctors successfully removed the two loaches, one of which was six inches long.
Doctors said the loaches had caused serious infection in
the man's abdominal area, and indicated that the man could have did had the loaches swam up to his upper organs.
